Broken little world

Broken little world

The other day I was in sitting down in the front lobby of Church. A family sat down next to me. A father, mother and teenage son. They all immediately pulled out their phones and began to check email and facebook. They stayed looking down for at least 10 minutes until one of their phones rang. That was the first voice I heard.
I thought.. thats kinda sad that for a lot of us, our world revolves around this little computer and our virtual friends. We would rather see which movie a "friend" is in line for rather than speak to our family members that are right there next to us.
I chose to photograph my phone because I believe that we are a disposable nation. It shows the contrast between the beautiful "new" iphone that we buy Otterboxes for to protect our babies, and a used broken down phone that would should be thrown away. Besides my phone, I can't remember the last 1st generation Iphone I've seen. Now there are 4 versions with multiple upgrades in between. Mine has been broken for about 6 months. My daughter also thought it would be fun to play with it under water so you can't hear out of it.
It still works unfortunately...
